When I was 14, a friend of mine decided to make my life a bit more interesting than it already was, to that point anyway. He accomplished this by breaking my knee. Quite accidentally and with no malice intended, I assure you. Nonetheless, until that day, I was a competitive runner and that incident put an end to ever doing it again.
